Biography
Sebastian Zapata is a junior studying Electrical Engineering at BYU, graduating in April 2021. He was born in Cañete, a very small town in the south of Chile, and came to the United States in the Summer of 2016. Some of the areas he is interested in are power electronics, signals and systems, and electromagnetics. He’s a member of the Autonomous Ground Vehicle Club and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, where he was a chapter board member for the academic year of 2018-2019. He plans on going to graduate school after finishing his bachelor's degree, work in the industry for a few years, and at some point he would like to be a college professor. In his free time he enjoys playing the violin, go salsa dancing, taking apart electronic devices, and studying German.
